Studio Route 29
The majority of FINNBAR’s profits will go directly to Studio Route 29. Studio Route 29 is a progressive art studio here in Frenchtown that centers the creative practices and perspectives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
An artist’s work can be anything they want it to be
Studio Route 29 centers the creative practices and perspectives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Studio is a community space that champions inclusion and brings people together in play and creative spirit.
Studio Route 29 aims to strengthen the art community at large by extending resources and access to those historically dispossessed of them. The Studio provides space, materials, and support to explore, create, and develop an artistic practice. Artists will have access to a wide range of mediums including (but not limited to) drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, installation, fashion design and production, weaving, rug making, sound art and music, performance, video, photography, and poetry.
Studio Route 29 is integrated into the broader creative community of Frenchtown and beyond, and The Studio has clubs, workshops, field trips, exhibitions, performances, film screenings, and all kinds of festivities that are open to the public.
The Studio's gallery celebrates, represents, and advocates the artistic and cultural production of the studio, community space, and larger progressive art studio movement. Studio Route 29 exhibits and sells artworks by their artists and others, and they work to promote their studio artists’ artwork broadly. The Studio provides career support and professional development specific to each artist’s personal goals.
Studio Route 29 is here to support their studio artists to accomplish their dreams, and to support the larger creative community to become more inclusive, connected, and vital.
